Keynote lecture at Nordiske arkivdager, an international conference on archives and the work of archivists in contemporary societies.
The talk was titled “Keeping truth in a post-truth world. The importance of accessible archives for individuals and societies.”
Its description was as follows:
“I love archives and I love working in archives. As a historian and former head of state, I will talk about the importance of archives in making sure that people can remember and construct the past in multiple ways, free from the demands of people in power but duty-bound to honesty, diversity and, yes, facts and truth.”
